About Us
Ihoma Healthcare was started by a group of healthcare professionals that worked throughout the DMV. As they worked with clients throughout communities they identified a need for compassionate person-centered high quality, integrated supports for adults with intellectual developmental disabilities in the District of Columbia (DC).
All people are valued and supported, and we focus on what people can do, rather than what they cannot. We understand and appreciate the various interests, talents, and strengths among us. The struggles we all face in different areas of our lives are part of who and what we are as human beings. To us, the need for help from a friend, the need to see a specialty doctor, or even the need to use a wheelchair are all part of what makes us all truly equal.
The Ihoma Approach
In line with our fundamental beliefs, our mission is to improve the quality of life for people with varying physical, behavioral, mental, intellectual, and developmental abilities through;

Persons served receive twenty-four-hour support provided by a highly competent trained staff. This is accomplished by maintaining ongoing active treatments and by providing the persons served with a plan structured specifically to holistically meet their needs.
